Distribution: Indian Ocean, Pacific, Red Sea ..

Housing: lives in lagoons and coralline areas. It is found from the surface to 30 m depth.

Description: Also called wrasse in Mauritius or the Maldives girelle board because of horizontal zebra pink on a silver background that adorn the head of the snout to the cap.
The rest of the body is silver color, the scales are very square and highlighted in black. The caudal fin is yellow. Size, about 30 cm.

Food: It feeds mainly prey with hard shells, including molluscs, crustaceans and sea urchins.
